Who would have ever thought that Eminem would write a heartfelt letter about Tupac Shakur?
Well, according to E! Online, the Detroit rapper wrote a letter to the legendary rapper’s mother, Afeni. In the letter, Eminem lets her know that Tupac was a major influence and inspiration in his career. He goes on to say, “When I was feeling at my worst; (before fame, before Dre) I knew I could put that ‘Tupac’ tape in and suddenly, things weren’t so bad. He gave me the courage to stand up and say ‘F**k the world!’ ‘This is who I am! And if you don’t like it, go f**k yourself!’ Thank you for giving us his spirit and YOURS.””
Also, the Slim Shady rapper thanks Afeni for being so nice to him by stating, “Thank you for being so kind to me. You are a true Queen, and I mean that in every sense of the word. I will never forget the opportunities you have given me.”
At the end of the letter, Eminem gives the signature, “Marshall” as well as a portrait of Tupac and a quote that states, “To Afeni – Your Friend 4ever, Marshall.”
So far, the heartfelt letter will be placed in the Tupac Amaru Center of Arts in Stone Mountain, GA.
