T’yanna Wallace, the only daughter of the late Hip Hop legend Biggie Smalls, is branching out to make her own name with the debut of her own clothing store. As the eldest offspring of the renowned MC, she is the latest child of a well-known figure in Hip-Hop to branch out into fashion with their own business ventures, joining the ranks of Angela Simmons, Romeo Miller, Reginae Carter and O’Shea Jackson.
On December 2nd, she held the grand opening of her clothing boutique located in Brooklyn Heights, NY, close to where Biggie grew up. The store showcased new and brand favorites from her already successful fashion line “Notoriouss Clothing”. The line, which T’yanna started working on back in 2013, began as a modest Hip-Hop T-shirt collection that soon caught rapid fire. By 2015, hats, hoodie, vests, and sweaters were also included with the trademark, offering sets for both men and women.
The opening event was festive, with fan favorite lyrics on the walls and racks filled with Notorious B.I.G. themed assortments and memorabilia. It was attended by a number of Big’s celebrity friends and family including Lil Cease, DJ Enuff, and Yonkers’ own Jadakiss. She had this to say in regards to her new venture and the importance of preserving her dad’s legacy:
“Notoriouss is a flagship store for street wear and is heavily inspired by New York and Brooklyn Hip-Hop culture. I just feel like when you listen to his music, you know he’s from Brooklyn… I don’t really hear a lot of people coming to Brooklyn and not thinking about Biggie. Notoriouss will become every Brooklynite’s dream come true.”
She went on to say that she had always dreamed of becoming a fashion mogul. And while T’yanna was only 3 when her father died at the age of 24 (the same age she is now), something tells us Big Poppa would be more than proud! The Penn State graduate is seemingly just as sharp and determined as her late father was, taking her fashion design aspirations to a new level. With the amount of respect and hustling mentality being shown by his ambitious young daughter we can safely say that for now, the legacy is preserved.
Keep rocking T’yanna!
